'! ~3 <br />Change the revenues and fund balances estimated to be avail- <br />able to meet the foregoing appropriations in the funds '. <br />indicated: <br />INCREASE <br />FUND RESOURCE (DECREASE) TO TOTAL <br />Adopted this the 5th day of January, 1976." <br />Commissioner Gustaveson pointed out that Item #8 on the Agenda <br />was yet to be considered and that he felt the Board needed to <br />establish its priorities and then come back to this request once <br />the expenditures needed for Item #8 had been established. <br />The Board requested the Finance Officer to review the County's <br />fiscal position at this particular time. <br />Mr. Evans stated that the Contingency Fund now had $60,000., <br />however, $30,000. was already committed and this left $30,000. for <br />the remainder of the year and there was the matter of legal fees for <br />the proposed civil suit against the University of North Carolina. <br />Further discussion ensued. <br />Chairman Garrett called for a vote on the matter. <br />All members voted aye. <br />The Chairman declared the motion passed. <br />Chairman Garrett referred to Ttem #3-A: The term of William <br />Heriford on the Orange County Emergency Medical Services Council <br />has expired. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Whitted, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved and adopted that William Heriford be reappointed <br />as a member of the Orange County Emergency Medical Services Council. <br />Item #3-B: One vacancy exists on the County's Recreation <br />Advisory Council. For the appointment, Commissioner Whitted nomin- <br />ated Ms. Sue Arrington, Route #5, Mebane, N. C., as a member of the <br />Recreation Advisory Council. <br />Item #3-C: The County has five appointments to make t0 the <br />Hillsborough Planning Board. These appointments should be made be- <br />fore February 15, 1976. These appointments were deferred until the <br />January 20, 1976 meeting. Chairman Garrett read a list of recom- <br />mendations to the Planning Beard and which was received from the <br />Town of Hi'1lsborough. Marian Allison, John Ballard, Ed Barnes, <br />Alma Brown, Wilson Cole, Mrs. Carl Davis, Horace Johnson, Dalton <br />Loftin, Aubrey Martin, Frank Ray and Fate Vallines. <br />Item #3-D: Members of the Youth Services Needs Task Force <br />should be named: Discussion ensued concerning the Youth Services <br />Needs Task Force and the Board agreed that the various agencies <br />should be contacted and requested to submit names as prospective <br />members of the Youth Services Needs Task Force. The Clerk was <br />instructed to write the following agencies for recommendations. <br />Department of Social Services and its Chairman <br />Orange-Person-Chatham Mental Health and its Chairman <br />Chapel Hill-Carrboro School Unit and the Chairman of the <br />Board. <br />Orange County School system and the Chairman of the Board <br />Chapel Hill Department of Human Services <br />School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina <br />Switchboard, the Directors and Chairman <br />Court Counselors for. the 16th District, Mr. Harry Derr <br />
