Mental Health Association <br /> The Mental Health Association in orange County promotes positive mental health through <br /> advocacy, education, collaboration and service. The Association supports activities to improve <br /> services to citizens who have a mental illness or emotional disturbance. This grant will be used <br /> to support the Compeer Program, which coord hates friendship matches between volunteers <br /> and mentally ill adults to address the social isolation that is often prevalent in mental illness. <br /> 37. Middle School After School Program-Communities in Schools <br /> The Middle School After School Program (MSAS) provides educational, social and recreational <br /> activities for middle school students during the after school hours from 3:00pm to 0:00prn. This <br /> program is offered at all middle Schools in the orange County and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City <br /> School Districts. <br /> 33. Orange-Chatham Alternative Sentencing <br /> Orange-Chatham Alternative Sentencing (OCAS) provides critical inforrhatian to the judiciary <br /> and probations officers, magistrates, jailers, and other judicial officials so that they may make <br /> more informed decisions regarding the rehabilitation or release of Pretrial inmates in the 15-B <br /> County Jails. <br /> 39. orange Congregations in Fission (OCIM) <br /> This agency provides services to economically challenged and homebound northern Grange <br /> County residents through volunteer efforts of diverse congregations and individuals. <br /> 40. orange County Partnership for Young Children <br /> The mission of the Partnership is to ensure that all young children arrive at school healthy and <br /> ready to succeed. The Partnership serves as the administrator for the Smart Start Early <br /> Childhood Initiative and the More at Four Program in orange County. <br /> 41. orange Enterprises <br /> Orange Enterprises provides vocational training and sheltered employment programs for <br /> Orange County citizens who have employment barriers. <br /> 42. Piedmont Health Services <br /> Piedmont Health 'Services has served the health care needs of the citizens of central North <br /> Carolina since 1970. They operate six community health centers and provide high quality, <br /> comprehensive family health care Services to all patients needing access to those services. To <br /> meet their mission, they offer payment on a sliding fee scale for those who qualify. <br /> The agency also provides bilingual care to a growing Spanish-speaking population. <br /> 43. Piedmont wildlife Center <br /> This agency's mission is to support native North American wildlife and its habitat through <br /> rehabilitation, education, and scientific study, with emphasis given to wildlife and wilderness of <br /> the North Carolina Piedmont. Piedmont Wildlife Center takes in Sick, injured, and orphaned <br /> native North American wildlife with the intent of returning there in a healthy condition to their <br /> original habitat.
