Community and Environment Non-Departmentalsm continued <br /> Lake Orange $1,500 <br /> These funds provide for maintenance, grass cutting and other grounds keeping at Lake Orange <br /> and upstream sediment structures. Lake Orange maintenance funds serve to protect the <br /> County's interests in the infrastructure of Lake Orange, as a drinking water source and natural <br /> habitat in the Eno River channel. Reservoirs require protection from the growth of trees on <br /> dams, the activities of beavers clogging Overflow structures raising water levels to unsafe levels, <br /> and from the loss of storage volume due to collected sediment. <br /> Partnerships Development and Infrastructure $2,500 <br /> The mission of the Partnership is to bring together community and regional partners to work on <br /> long--term, regional strategies for the development and conservation of land, infrastructure to <br /> support development and improved mobility. <br /> Research Triangle Regional Partnership $'18,564 <br /> The Research Triangle Regional Partnership is a partnership organization consisting of seven <br /> counties in the Triangle Region. The organization's mission is to market the region for the <br /> economic benefit of its communities. The Partnership concentrates its marketing on the <br /> following industries. information technology, biotechnology/pharmaceuticals, <br /> warehousingldistribution, automotive manufacturing, and plastics. <br /> Dural Planning Organization (RPO) $7,744 <br /> The state of North Carolina created the Rural Planning Organization (RPO) in order to review, <br /> analyze and recommend planning and improvements to rural area transportation networks. <br /> Triangle J council of Governments is the lead agency to coordinate a multi-county rural region <br /> adjacent to the Durham/Chapel bill Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), which handles <br /> more urban issues. Orange County's membership in the RPO requires one commissioner, the <br /> county manager (or a designee), and the transportation planner to-be participating members. <br /> Upper Veuse River Basin Dues $'13,0'18 <br /> These funds provide for Orange county to remain a member of the Upper Neuse River Basin <br /> Association. <br />
