<br />PARALEGAL
<br />Prepares and/or processes a variety of documentation associated with department operations,
<br />per established procedures and within designated timeframes; reviews various documentation for
<br />accuracy and completeness; distributes/issues various documentation.
<br />Refers to policy and procedure manuals, codes /laws /regulations, publications and reference
<br />texts, etc.
<br />Operates a variety of office equipment and machinery such as computer, fax machine, copy
<br />machine, etc.
<br />Uses a variety of tools such as stapler, standard office tools, etc.; a variety of supplies such as
<br />general office supplies, etc.; and a variety of computer software such as word processing,
<br />spreadsheet, database, accounting, or other programs.
<br />Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as County Attorney,
<br />coworkers, department directors, County Manager, and the general public.
<br />ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
<br />Performs related duties as required.
<br />MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
<br />Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree in
<br />paralegal studies or related field and one to three years of paralegal experience; or an equivalent
<br />combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills,
<br />and abilities. Must possess paralegal certification.
<br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED
<br />TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
<br />Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated machines
<br />including telephone, computer, copier, calculator, etc. Must be physically able to exert up to
<br />twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to
<br />lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Position involves mostly sedentary work, but
<br />may require walking or standing for brief periods of time.
<br />Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable
<br />functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious
<br />standards) of data, people or things.
<br />Interaersonal Communications: Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to
<br />convey or exchange information. Includes receiving direction and instruction from supervisor.
<br />Lanpuape Ability: Requires ability to read a variety of policies and procedures, computer
<br />manuals, legal documents, etc. Requires the ability to prepare reports, records, correspondence,
<br />legal documents, etc. with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of
<br />speech. Requires the ability to speak with poise, voice control, and confidence.
