2 <br />The establishment of the County Attorney's Office, the transferring of the Staff Attorney position <br />and the approval of the new Paralegal position will allow the legal functions in Orange County <br />government to be comprehensive and efficient. (See Attachment #1: County Attorney's <br />Department Organizational Chart.) <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Salaries for the County Attorney and Staff Attorney positions have <br />previously been approved. The new position of Paralegal will be established as Grade 14 with a <br />range of $34,984 to $55,925. The position of the Paralegal is budgeted in the FY 2009-10 <br />proposed budget. Any cost prior to adoption of the FY 2009-10 budget will come from existing <br />appropriations. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the changes in the <br />County organizational structure by creating the County Attorney's Office reporting to the BOCC. <br />The Manager also recommends the Board approve a new position of Paralegal in the County <br />Attorney's Office and amend the Classification and Pay Plan reflecting the Paralegal <br />classification. <br />
