ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: June 26, 2007 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. , cl <br />SUBJECT: Historic Rogers Road Community Enhancement and Monitoring Task Force — <br />Interim Report <br />DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste Management PUBLIC HEARING: (YIN) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Task Force Membership List <br />June 25, 2007 Community Meeting Gayle Wilson, 968 -2885 <br />Notice <br />PURPOSE: To provide an update on the Historic Rogers Road Community Enhancement and <br />Monitoring Task Force activities to date. <br />BACKGROUND: At its April 24, 2007 meeting, the BOCC created the Historic Roger's Road <br />Community Enhancement Plan Development and Monitoring Task Force. The purpose of this <br />Task Force is to develop and recommend a plan to the BOCC for the enhancement of the living <br />environment in the historic Rogers Road Community and to monitor the implementation of the <br />plan. The BOCC has requested a recommended enhancement plan be submitted by <br />September 1, 2007. <br />The Task Force met on June 6 and June 11 at the Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love Church. <br />Issues discussed to date are the Task Force Charge, review of various materials, Task Force <br />process and timeline, desired outcomes, delineation of the specific Historic Rogers Road <br />Community boundaries, and options for obtaining maximum community input into the process. <br />The community conducted a public forum without the participation of County staff and elected <br />officials on June 19 to talk among themselves on community priorities and desired Task Force <br />process outcomes. The Task Force is scheduled to conduct a community information gathering <br />meeting on June 25 at the Homestead Community Center. A written interim report will be <br />provided at the June 26 BOCC meeting. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There are currently no expenditures anticipated related to the meeting of <br />the Task Force. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the interim report <br />and provide additional instructions to staff as necessary. <br />
