~+t-~r~h~-~-~°~- ~ <br /> <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />Laura Blackmon, County Manager <br />FROM: Gwen Harvey, Assistant County Manager <br />RE: Outside Agency Grant Application Process - FY09-10 <br />DATE: May 5, 2009 <br />The following information is provided to the BOCC in response to questions raised <br />during the Budget Work Session on April 16, 2009 regarding the County Manager's <br />Recommendation on Outside Agency Allocations. <br />Human Services Advisory Commission (HSAC) Recommendations <br />• • HSAC members divided into teams of twos to review Outside Agency <br />Applications using the BOCC approved Scorecard Evaluation Form. A meeting <br />was held on March 17, 2009, facilitated by the School of Government, during <br />which HSAC: <br />• Designated 26 (out of 51 total) agencies they felt comprise a County "safety net" <br />to be given highest priority consideration in keeping with a statement from the <br />BOCC <br />• Reported the results of team evaluations of individual agency applications <br />• Reached a consensus on recommended allocations for FY09-10 (following <br />general discussion and debate) cognizant that the final decisions are reserved <br />solely for the BOCC as it enacts the new Budget <br />• Funding recommendations were derived as shown: <br />Safety Net Agencies -Full funding of requested amount (one exception) <br />Non-Safety Net Agencies scoring 90 and above -Full funding of requested <br />amount <br />Non-Safety Net Agencies scoring 64-89 - 10 % reduction in requested amount <br />Non-Safety Net Agencies scoring 65 and below - 25 % reduction in requested <br />• amount <br />
