54 <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Finney, seconded By Commissioner <br />Gustaveson, it was moved and adopted that the County refund to Mr. <br />Dusenbury the amount of $134.91, <br />Chairman Garrett referred to Item #9 on the Agenda; (Consideration <br />of request made by Honorable Stanley Pee1e to allow a suitable picture <br />of L. J. Phipps to be hung in the f~range County Superior Courtroom.) <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, it was moved that the Board <br />approve the request. Commissioner Walker seconded the motion. <br />Discussion ensued. Commissioner Gustaveson asked if there was <br />I any criteria required, that he could foresee many people wantzng to <br />do the same thing. <br />Commissioner Walker stated that this was the first occasion to <br />his knowledge of any such request. <br />Chairman Garrett called for the vote. <br />Vote: Aye 5: Nay 0. <br />Chairman Garrett declared the motion passed. <br />The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to Judge Peele informing <br />him of theā€¢Board's approval. <br />Chairman Garrett referred to Item #14 on the Agenda: (Plats from <br />the County Planning Board). <br />A. Ben Thompson: Mr. Thompson proposes to divide a single parcel <br />into two smaller ones. The property is situated west of old <br />Highway 86 and South of State Road #1129 (Davis Road). The Planning <br />Board recommends this plat be approved. <br />Chairman Garrett recognized Irvin Dobson, Planning Director, and <br />Chris Edwards, Assistant Planning Director. Mr. Edwards presented a <br />i <br />tax map and plat of P+lr. Thompson's property to the Board. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Walker, <br />it was moved and adopted that the Board approve the Thompson plat. <br />B. Wallace Duncan: Mr. Duncan proposed to divide a tract of slightly <br />more than two acres into two parcels of slightly more than one acre <br />each. This property lies north of Homestead Road and west of <br />Rogers Road. The Planning Board recommends this plat be approved. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by Commissioner Whined, <br />it was moved and adopted that the Board approve the plat of Mr. Wallace. <br />C- Carolina Forest Phase I2: This parcel, in Chapel Hill Township, <br />is situated south of Jones Ferry Road and west of Damascus Church <br />Road. It consist of seventeen lots, the smallest of which is four <br />acres in size. The Planning Board recommends this plat he approved. <br />Mr. Edwards stated that the owner is to extend the already paved <br />road. The Health Department sees no problem with this land and that <br />Restrictive Covenants are to be drawn. Mr. Dobson added that one <br />technical problem was the length of the cul-de-sac. <br />Upon motion of commissioner Whitted, seconded by Commissioner <br />Pinney, it was moved and adopted that the Board approve the Prelimin- <br />ary Prat far Carolina Forest Phase II. <br />D. Price Creek PUD: This property was rezoned to PUD August 5, <br />1974. It is situated south of Damascus Church Road and consist <br />of four housing units clustered together surrounded by a large <br />common area. <br />The Planning Board recommends this plat be approved. <br />Mr. Edwards stated that perk tests have been successful an all <br />lots and that the Health Department has issued permits. <br />
