568 ORANGE COUN TY <br />pt <br />Pro -gum Dula <br />1975 -73 <br />DEPARTMENT: Board of Elections <br />Program Statement= Board of Elections, under the supervision of the County Board <br />of Elections', has the responsibility of: <br />1) Conducting all State, County, and Municipal Elections; <br />2) Filing candidates, preparing ballots, etc, related to all elections; <br />3) Registering or supervising the registration of all voters in county and <br />municipalities; <br />i 4) Maintaining an up -to -date statistical break -down of all registered voters by <br />precinct, accomplished by transferring registrations, adding,new registrations, <br />cancelling for removal from county, death, etc.; <br />5) Preparing reports required by the State Board of Elections; <br />6) Performing other duties as assigned by the County Board of Elections. <br />Chonges in program goals, activities, and level of appropriations with explainotion <br />Budgeting for the 1975 -76 fiscal year includes one -half the cost of conducting <br />the Chapel Hill- Carrboro Board of Education election in the 15 precincts of the <br />Town of Chapel Hill and the 5 precincts in the Town of Carrboro and the total cost <br />of said election in Patterson and Cole's Store precinct; total cost for the May 1976 <br />primary election and the June 1976 second primary. <br />Study of the possibility of splitting several large county precincts is underway. <br />No funds for newly established precinct equipment is anticipated for this fiscal <br />year but will be proposed for a later date. <br />A_ <br />Capital and Equipment Requested <br />NONE <br />Program Fiscal Summary- <br />County Appropriations 50,600.00 <br />Related County Revenues ._ <br />1) <br />2) <br />4) <br />Other Resources <br />I) <br />2) <br />3 <br />4) <br />:s: <br />t <br />
