Olver, Inc. <br />1135 Kildare Farm Road <br />..._ Cary, NC 27511 <br />Reference: Wetland and Endangered Species Investigations <br />Site U56 (West 54 LLC), Approximately 143 Acres <br />Orange County, North Carolina <br />Dear Mr. Parker, <br />' Hal Owen and Associates; Inc. has conducted an investigation for the subject property, <br />. which is located on the northern side of Hwy S4, in the White Cross USGS topographic map <br />. quadrangle of Orange County, North Carolina, The purpose of this investigation was to <br />~ ~ determine the existence and°extent of areas that are regulated under Section 404 of the Ciean <br />- Water Act and to 'present ~-our findings on • a hand drawn: •map representing the approximate <br />location and extent of each wetland area observed.• The purpose of the investigation was also to <br />identify areas that contain the habitat needed to support known endangered or threatened plant or <br />animal species. ~ ~. ~ ~ . <br />• All wetland determinations and delineations were made in accordance with the 1987 US <br />.....................Army Carps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual. All stream determinations were made in <br />accordance with the NC Division of Water Quality "Identification Methods for the Origins of <br />Intermittent and Perennial Streams Version 3.1". This report represents my'professional opinion <br />as a Licensed Sail Scientist. but does not represent concurrence by the US Army Corps of <br />Engineers or the NC Division of Water Quality. <br />Wetland Ynvestigation <br />Within the approximately 25 acre. area designated for construction of the transfer station, <br />we identified two streams and three wetland areas (see attached map). Areas that met the criteria <br />o~jurisdictional wetlands were delineated by hanging consecutively numbered (tagging along the <br />wetland Boundary to be survey located. It appears that the two streams have been previously <br />identified iz~ the• field with blue flagging, While at the site we collected supporting wetland <br />determination data required by the US Army Carps of Engineers .in order to conduct a <br />Jurisdictional Determination. We completed two sets of wetland determination• forms and three <br />stream deternuna#ion forms and took photographs. <br />Soil Science Investigations + Wetland Delineations, Permitting, and Consulting <br />
