2 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The guaranteed maximum price for the upfit of the leased space for DSS <br />is $2,781,457. Amendment #1 to the Construction Manager at Risk Contract is attached and <br />documents this action. <br />The Board will recall the FY 2009-2019 Capital Investment Plan includes a total of $3.719 <br />million, which includes upfit and design costs, furniture, equipment, including a telephone <br />system and other miscellaneous owner costs associated with construction projects. <br />The Board should also be reminded DSS is eligible to seek reimbursement for many costs <br />contained in this amendment, as well as other elements of the project (e.g. furnishings). The <br />rate of reimbursement is estimated at 50%. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board 1) approve a contract <br />amendment, subject to final review and approval by the County Attorney, in the amount of <br />$2,781,457 with Resolute Building Company (RBC) for the upfit of space leased at Hillsborough <br />Commons for DSS office space; 2) authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board; and 3) <br />authorize the Manager to sign change orders/amendments as may be needed, contingent upon <br />adherence to available funding. <br />
