Chairman Garrett declared <br />the motion passed. <br />Chairman Garrett referred to Item II on the Agenda. <br />Item IT: Brief roport on progress towards establishing a Joint Carrboro, Chapel <br />Hill, Orange County animal control facility. <br />The County Administrator reported vn the conferences that he had had with the <br />officials of the Town of Chapel Hi11 and Carrboro and that these units of government <br />were interested in pursuing the matter, however, the location of any pounds was yet <br />tv be considered. <br />Chairman Garrett inquired if there was any other business to come before the Board. <br />- She then advised the members of tiie:press that the Board would adjourn into Executive <br />Session as there were Personnel matters that the Register of Deeds wishes to discuss <br />and the County Manager stated there was also a legal matter that needed attention. <br />Executive Session. ~_ _ ..,}~ <br />Flora R. Garrett, Chairman <br />Betty June Hayes, Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br />AND REVIEW <br />April 29, 1975 <br />The Orange County Board of Equalization and Review convened on April 29, 1975, at <br />7:00 p.m. in the .Commissioners Room of the Orange County Courthouse. <br />Members present: Chairman Flora Garrett, Commissioners Norman Walker, Richard <br />Whitted, Norman Gustaveson and Jan Pinney. <br />The Board heard appeals of 1975 real property tax valuations by the following per- <br />. sons for the: indicated properties. Anderson Hillsborough 18 H 1 <br />The Board also heard an appeal from the Tax Supervisor's denial of an application <br />for exemption from the Orange County Medical Foundation, Inc. (represented by William C. <br />• Ray, President; and Directors Dalton H. Loftin, Robert J. Murphy and Ross Porter) for its <br />property in Hillsborough Township (Tax Map 36, Block D, Lot 5A). Resolution of this <br />appeal was deferred pending further consideration and advice of counsel. <br />• The Board adopted appropriate orders reducing the valuation of Mr. Perkins' property <br />(7 41-D-7) from $48,300 to $46,800; reducing the valuation of Herman B.Hloyd's property <br />7 27B-A-2) from $9,900 to $5,800; reducing the valuation of Ray Brown's propertyp from <br />$43,100 to $41,100 reducing the valuation appealed by Jeff Beaubier (7 132-D-3) from <br />$6,100 to $4,600; reducing the valuation of Mrs. A. T. Anderson's property (4 18-H-1) <br />from $25,700 to $17,500. <br />The Board adopted orders confirming the valuations appealed by Katherine E. <br />Freeman (7 75-D-6~ Steven Douglas Paschall (7 5-35B) and Dsvid J. and Elizabeth C. Hutton <br />(7 95-A-22). <br />Resolution of the appeal by Louis C. Edwards was deferred pending further consi- <br />deration. <br />The Board recessed to reconvene on Friday, May 2, 1975, at 6:30 p.m., in the <br />Commissioners Room of the Orange County Courthouse. <br />The Board reconvened as the Board of County Commissioners at approximately 10:00 p.m <br />to approve request for refunds for overpayment of ad valorem taxes in the specified <br />amounts from the following: <br />Thurston Adger Wilson, Jr. and Mignon 25.60:: (197(+ Lax <br />Willie S.
