• Prepare final site plan <br />• Assist in the preparation of the project operation & Maintenance manual for the system <br />Coulter Jewell Thames estimated completion time needed for the drafting/design work and <br />submittal for final permit approval is four months, for permit approval is two months, and for <br />bidding and construction is six months. The County will require Coulter Jewell Thames to <br />provide bi-monthly updates regarding the status of this project in order to stay abreast of the <br />progress and to place the County in a position to provide assistance should the project be <br />delayed during the permitting process. <br />a <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Board is asked to approve a change order for this work not to <br />exceed $74,500. Approximately $27,000 of that amount is attributable to work on the site plan <br />and the project Operation & Maintenance manual, both of which may be accommodated through <br />the County Engineer's office with assistance from the Environmental Health Division of the <br />Orange County Health Department. The consultant will provide an updated construction cost <br />as part of the work. Project funds from the County's 2004 Net Debt Reduction Bonds fund the <br />construction of the system. Although the work would be accomplished via a change order to the <br />Northern Park Project design contract with Coulter Jewell Thames, the design and construction <br />costs for the system would be charged to the septic system project account. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve a change order <br />for additional services in the amount not to exceed $74,500 for the Northern Park design project <br />to include the drafting/design of the new wastewater treatment system as outlined above; and <br />• authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />• <br /> <br />
