,~ MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COi1NTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS November 18, 1974 The Orange County Soard of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, November 18, 1974. ~ Members Present: Chairman, Norman Walker, Commissioners, Flora Garrett, Henry Walker, Melvin Whitfield, and Richard E. Whitted. Members Absent: None. S. M. Gattis, County Administrator, was also present. Triis meeting was held in order that the Soard members might review with Sohn Feagans and Bob Privitte, c. P. A.'s from the firm of Ernst & Ernst, the annual nudit of Orange County records. Mr. Feagans apologized to the Hoard for the absence of Mr. Tom Brafford, Senior Partner. of the Raleigh branch of Ernst & Ernst, who usually handles these qudit reviews, however, Mr. Br afford had been taken ill and was unable to attend this session. Mr. Feagans and Mr. Privitte. answered the question posed by the Soard members and this portion of the meeting was concluded at 10:30 P.M. Commissioner Garrett and commissioner Whitted reported the results of a meeting they attended on Fiiday afternoon November 15th at the Carolina Inn. The Church Commission conducted a seminar at which representatives of the Regional Council of Government, The State Board of Water and Air Resources, The Local Government Commission and the Institute of Government spoke. This seminar was held in order that the persons just mentioned might review with representatives of Local Government the advantages and disadvantages of acquiring the University Water System through an authority arrangement. At the conclusion of this report the County Administrator was authorized to write John Temple and advise him the County was interested in persuing a possible join ownership arrangement of the water and sewer systems with the Towns of Carrboro and chapel Hi11. Approved: MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY HOARD OF COMMISSIONERS November 19, 1974 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, November ].9, 1974, at 8 o'clock p.m. in the Superior courtroom of the courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Member Present: Chairman, Norman Walker, Commissioners Flora Garrett, Henry 5. Walker, Melvin Whitfield, and Richard E. Whitted. Members Absent: None. Chairman Norman Walker called the meeting to order and advised the audience that prior to the public hearing he would hear from the County Zoning Officer concerning certain plats that needed approval.
