~~ ~ 1221 ~~ ~ <br />^ _ <br />-Please return this copy to DENR Contract Number 1922 ~ - /~ <br />Clerk to the Board's office for PAF <br />MOBILE BASE RADIO UNIT PROVISION AND USEAGE <br />MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER <br />AND THE ENO RIVER STATE PARK <br />This AGREEMENT made and entered into by and between the Orange County, on behalf of <br />Orange County Communications Center, a governmental agency providing Division of Criminal <br />Information access and serving as a communications center for the routing and servicing of <br />requests regarding law enforcement services, fire services, emergency medical services, and <br />hazardous materials services under the management control of Orange County Emergency <br />Management, and the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, on <br />behalf of the Eno River State Park and Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area for the <br />purposes and considerations hereafter set out: <br />I. BACKGROUND <br />It is recognized by Orange County Emergency Management (hereafter referred to as <br />Servicing Agency) and Eno River State Park (hereafter referred to as Recipient Agency) <br />that both agencies have a shared interest in the safety and welfare of citizens, property <br />and resources; the appropriate response to fires, medical and law enforcement incidents <br />and other emergencies within Orange County. Both agencies need cooperative <br />emergency rescue, emergency medical services, firefighting, search and rescue, and law <br />enforcement assistance within Orange County as required by specific emergencies. This <br />Agreement will perpetuate the cooperation and assistance provided as a management tool <br />in accomplishment of each agency's respective mission. <br />II. PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this Agreement is to outline the responsibilities of each agency in regards <br />to the provision of one (1) mobile base radio unit for the purpose of facilitating direct <br />communication between said agencies by the Recipient Agency to the Servicing Agency. <br />The communication needs that will be addressed by providing the Servicing Agency with <br />a mobile base radio unit by the Recipient Agency constitute: Division of Criminal <br />Information inquiries made by Recipient Agency; Facilitating requests for dispatch of <br />Law Enforcement Units/Services, Emergency Medical Services, Technical Rescue <br />Services, Fire Suppression Services, Search and Rescue Services and Hazardous <br />Materials Services: the ability of the Servicing Agency to contact the Recipient Agency <br />to advise of such reports made to the Servicing Agency by a third party regarding such <br />events requiring provided services (mentioned above) that are needed within Orange <br />County. <br />III. RESPONSIBILITIES OF SERVICING AGENCY <br />The Servicing Agency agrees to provide radio based communication service 24 hours a <br />day, 7 days a week to the Recipient Agency upon the terms established by this <br />agreement.
