Funds would also be allocated to the Orange Community Housing Corporation to fund <br />site improvement costs for the Scarlett Drive Townhome Project. <br />Anticipated Beneficiaries: 14 families earning less than 80% median income <br />Accomplishments: 14 townhomes; 14 first-time homebuyers <br />Anticipated Completion Date: December 31, 2001 <br />$70,000 <br />Funds would be allocated to the Neighborhood Revitalization Fund for activities in the <br />Pine Knolls and Northside neighborhoods. Funds could be used for second mortgages, <br />property acquisition or renovation, public improvements, or community service <br />activities. <br />Anticipated Beneficiaries: 2 families earning less than 70% median income <br />Accomplishments: 2 standard dwelling units <br />Anticipated Completion Date: December 31, 2001 <br />$50,000 <br />Funds would be allocated to the Orange County Literacy Council to expand its computer <br />literacy program to all interested public housing residents. The funds would be used to <br />purchase computer equipment and educational software and administrative support for on- <br />site instruction. Funds would also be allocated to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA to <br />continue operation of the After School Day Programs held at the Pine Knolls and South <br />Estes Drive Community Centers. Funds would be used to assist with operating expenses <br />for the program. <br />This project is located in communities which are areas of both low/moderate and minority <br />concentration. This is a continuation of the Town's efforts to revitalize these low- income <br />neighborhoods. <br />Anticipated Beneficiaries: Families with income less than 50% median income. <br />Anticipated Completion Date: June 30, 2000 <br />$20,000 <br />Economic Development <br />Funds would be allocated for the construction of a parking lot on the corner of West <br />Rosemary Street and Sunset Drive in conjunction with the Town of Carrboro. <br />$15,000 <br />Program Administration <br />$70,000 <br />TOTAL $566,000 <br />16 <br />
