HUNT JR. <br />tiOYEANOR <br />C~ttro~T~¢ <br />INFORMATION AND REFERRAL AWARENESS"WEEK <br />1999 <br />BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />A PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, information and roferral agencies work to affirm the dignity, self-worth and <br />independence of individuals by facilitating their decisions and actions, tapping their experiences, skill <br />and knowledge, and enabling their continued contribution to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, information and referral agencies function as a point of entry, helping individuals to <br />help themselves and oath other, and offering service or access to community services as needed; and <br />WHEREAS, special recognition should be given to information end referral agencies aad their <br />role is serving individuals throughout the State of Notti- Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, information and roferral agencies in our communities serve as a viable commitment <br />to the citinats of North Carolina; <br />NOW, TFIEREFORE,1, JAMES B. HUNT 7R., Governor of the State of North Carolina. do <br />heroby proclaim May 9r15i 1999. as "INFORMATION AND REI+'ERRAL AWARENESS WEEK' <br />in North Carolina, and commend this observance to our citizens. <br />~~~~ <br />JAMES B.
