L9 <br />RECOMMENDED REPAIR METHODS <br />C' <br />BURA 6A Membrane Splits <br />Spud away gravel and flood coat. Remove all <br />layers of deteriorated membrane. Replace <br />wet insulation as necessary. Replace <br />membrane with four layers of fiberglass felt <br />or one ply modified bitumen base sheet and <br />one ply modified bitumen cap sheet. Repair <br />membrane to extend at least six inches onto <br />sound membrane. Replace surfacing with <br />similar materials or aluminized coating. <br />BURA 6B Membrane Slippage <br />Back -nail slipping membrane. Apply a <br />minimum of 3 plies of felt in asphalt, and <br />repair surfacing. <br />BURA 6C Deteriorated Metal <br />Remove and replace with new metal flashing. <br />Flashing <br />Apply a minimum of 3 plies of felt in asphalt, <br />and repair surfacing. <br />BURA 7A Open Field Seams <br />Cut seams and lay flat. Spud away gravel and <br />flood coat. Remove all layers of deteriorated <br />membrane. Replace wet insulation as <br />necessary. Replace membrane with four <br />layers of fiberglass felt or one ply modified <br />bitumen base sheet and one ply modified <br />bitumen cap sheet. Replace surfacing with similar <br />materials or aluminized coating. <br />BURA 7B Deteriorated Walkpads <br />Remove deteriorated walkpads where <br />possible. Install new walkpads in hot asphalt. <br />BURA 7C Loose Counter Flashing <br />Re- attach counter flashing with appropriate <br />- <br />fasteners. Do not used nylon sleeved <br />fasteners. <br />BURA 8A Blistering <br />For ruptured blisters only, cut blister and lay <br />flat. Spud away gravel and flood coat. <br />Remove all layers of deteriorated membrane. <br />Replace wet insulation as necessary. Replace <br />membrane with four layers of fiberglass felt <br />or one ply modified bitumen base sheet and <br />one ply modified bitumen cap sheet. Replace surfacing with <br />similar materials or aluminized coating. <br />BURA 8B Evidence of Ponding <br />Periodically monitor for evidence of <br />accelerated aging. Repair as needed.
