RECOMMENDED REPAIR METHODS <br />BURA 3B Deteriorated Base <br />Spud away gravel and flood coat at least 12 <br />Flashings <br />inches from the toe of the cant onto existing <br />roof surface. Remove existing base flashing <br />and replace using hot asphalt or a torch. <br />Restore flood coat and surfacing. <br />BURA 3C Pitch Pans Low on Fill <br />Top off pitch pans with roof cement or <br />pourable sealer. Slope from penetration to <br />the pan perimeter. <br />BURA 3D Deteriorated Gutter <br />Remove and replace with new gutter. <br />BURA 4A Alligatoring <br />Spud away gravel and flood coat. Replace <br />with similar materials or aluminized coating <br />material. <br />BURA 4B Deteriorated Strip <br />Spud away gravel and flood coat at least 18 <br />Flashings <br />inches back from roof edge. Remove and <br />replace existing strip flashing using 3 plies of <br />fiberglass felts or one modified bitumen base <br />ply and one modified bitumen cap sheet. <br />Seal seam at edge metal with butyl caulk. <br />Replace surfacing with similar materials or <br />aluminized coating. <br />BURA 4C Clogged Drains <br />Clean drain and water test. Remove debris <br />from roof. <br />BURA 4D Clogged Downspout <br />Clean downspout and water test. Remove <br />debris from roof. <br />BURA 5A Membrane Ridging <br />Spud away gravel and flood coat. Cut and <br />lay ridges flat. Install new repair membrane <br />with four layers of fiberglass felt or one ply <br />modified bitumen base sheet and one ply <br />modified, bitumen cap sheet. Repair <br />membrane to extend at least six inches onto <br />sound membrane. Replace surfacing with <br />similar materials or aluminized coating. <br />BURA 5B Disbonded Strip Flashings Spud away gravel and flood coat at least 12 <br />inches from the edge metal onto existing roof <br />surface. Remove existing flashing and <br />replace using hot asphalt or a torch. Restore <br />flood coat and surfacing. <br />BURA 5C Drain Strainer Missing <br />Replace with new drain strainers. <br />ME <br />
