RECOMMENDED REPAIR METHODS I <br />BURA <br />1A Surface Debris <br />Remove debris from roof, drains, downspouts <br />and gutters and properly dispose. <br />BURA <br />1B Open Flashing Seams <br />Clean both seam surfaces. Apply flashing <br />cement inside seam and over top of seam. <br />Imbed fabric into flashing cement and apply <br />additional flashing cement over fabrict. <br />Finished repair should extend 4 inches <br />minimum beyond all sides of seam. <br />BURA <br />1C Deteriorated Sealant <br />Remove sealant and replace with new sealant. <br />BURA <br />1D Insufficient Ballast <br />Re- distribute existing ballast. Add new ballast <br />as necessary. <br />BURA <br />1U Deteriorated Edge Metal <br />Remove and replace with new metal. <br />BURA <br />2A Erosion <br />Spud away gravel and flood coat. Replace <br />with similar materials or aluminized coating <br />material. <br />BURA 2B Disbonded Base Flashings Spud away gravel and flood coat at least 12 <br />inches from the toe of the cant onto existing <br />roof surface. Remove existing base flashing <br />and replace using hot asphalt or a torch. <br />Restore flood coat and surfacing. <br />BURA 2C Active Leaks Locate leaks. Spud away gravel and flood <br />coat. Remove all layers of deteriorated <br />membrane. Replace wet insulation as <br />necessary. Replace membrane with four <br />layers of fiberglass felt or one ply modified <br />bitumen base sheet and one ply modified <br />bitumen cap sheet. Repair membrane to <br />extend at least six inches onto sound <br />membrane. Replace surfacing with similar <br />materials or aluminized coating. <br />BURA 2D Loose Fasteners Remove loose fastener. Replace with new <br />fastener at new location adjacent to existing <br />or use larger fastener in existing hole. Repair <br />original hole and membrane as needed. <br />BURA 3A Deteriorated Membrane Spud away gravel and flood coat. Remove all <br />layers of deteriorated membrane. Replace <br />wet insulation as necessary. Replace <br />membrane with four layers of fiberglass felt <br />or one ply modified bitumen base sheet and <br />one ply modified bitumen cap sheet. Repair <br />membrane to extend at least six inches onto <br />sound membrane. Replace surfacing with <br />similar materials or aluminized coating. <br />a <br />
