Holton, Director of Finance <br />TO: Donna Dean <br />Budget Director, Orange County <br />FROM: Grace Holtonq�._ <br />Director of Finance <br />Chapel Hill- Carrboro City Schools <br />RE: Authorization from County Commissioners to Proceed With <br />Ordering of Two Mobile Classrooms for 1999 -2000 School Year <br />DATE: April 27, 1999 <br />Last Thursday night, the Board of Education approved the attached resolution to request <br />that the County Commissioners allow the Board of Education to enter into contracts for the <br />purchase of two mobile classrooms. These classrooms are designed to alleviate overcrowding at <br />McDougle Middle School. <br />To receive and install the classrooms before the beginning of the 1999 -2000 school year, <br />these units need to be ordered immediately. This project is part of the 1999 -09 CIP for the <br />school district. The project will not require a cash outflow until after July 1, but it does require <br />the encumbrance of funds. Permission of the County Commissioners and the promise of the <br />funds on July 1 is required to go forward with these contracts. <br />I appreciate any help you can give in putting this request before the Commissioners. <br />will be happy to answer any questions you may have. <br />Cc: ✓Neil Pedersen <br />Chet Preyar <br />
