" ~'~ -388 <br />MTNlJTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br />AND REVIEW <br />Suite 3, 1974 <br />The 1974 Orange County Board of Equalization and Review convened for its <br />sixth meeting at 7:00 P,M, on June 3, 1974 in the Commissioners Room of the Orange <br />County Courthouse. _' <br />Members Present: Commissioners Henry Walker, Richard Whitted, and Flora Garrett. <br />Members Absent: Chairman C. Norman Walker, and Commissioner Melvin Whitfield. <br />The Board heard appeals of 1974 real property tax assessments from the <br />following individuals concerning the indicated properties: <br />Appellant Township Tax Map Block Lot <br />Mr. Warren W. Reed, Treas.). Chapel Hill 118A (19 lots & pond <br />owned by Melas Corp. Jan. 1, 1974) <br />Mr, & Mrs. Joseph A. Circa Chapel Hi11 118A A 1,2 <br />Mr. W. Troy Couch Chapel Hill 5 15A,15H <br />Mr. & Mrs. Frank W. Bumphus Chapel Hill 3 20A,20J <br />Mr. Philip C. 5chinhan Chapel Hill 116A A - F <br />Ms. Lyda Eubanks Orgain Chapel Hill 52 2 <br />The Board considered the appeals of Melas corporation and Lyda Eubanks Orgain <br />although neither appellant was represented at this meeting. <br />The Hoard took the following action in resolving the aforementioned appeals: <br />the assessment of W. W. Williams' parcel 126-A-5 was reduced from $37,000 to <br />533,800 while the assessment of his parcel 126-A-6 was reduced from 520,600 to <br />56,300; the assessment of Mrs Alice Wilkins property was reduced #rom $15,800 <br />to 512,600; resolution of the appeals of Col. Frank S. Westling, Me1as Corporation, <br />and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. circa was postponed to allow further study of these <br />land values; the valuation of W. Troy Couch's parcel 15A was reduced by the Hoard <br />from $2,600 to 5600, and the .valuation of parcel 15B was reduced from 51;600 to <br />$600; resolution of the appeal of Mr: and Mrs. Frank W. Bumphus was postponed <br />pending Purther study; the Board decided to consider further the appeal of Mr. <br />Philip C.
