2 <br />creativity in design to preserve open space as intended by the flexible <br />development provisions and most frequently, those subdivisions do not <br />reserve/protect any natural areas that would not be protected by other <br />existing provisions in the zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations. <br />In December, 1998, the Planning Board Ordinance Review Committee <br />initiated the proposal to amend flexible development regulations to address <br />issues regarding the conservation option of flexible development. An <br />attached report "Additional Information", outlines that committee's <br />considerations. <br />Staff has expanded the purview of the proposed amendments to clarify other <br />flexible development provisions and to address inadequacies of the <br />conservation option that are common for other flexible development <br />approaches.
