The library receives 13% of its support <br />from the county er from ch the rest from finds, etc. Orange County residents account for over <br />40% of the patr showed checkout records... over 40% of the check out records are from County <br />residents. Librpartners to schools. Books /reference materials /technology/ oc spends a lower <br />proportion of it thanmany other local counties. This is a dispartity with the proportion of the <br />budget devoted a 'on. $627,000 to support the Orange County library, $213,000 to ch to subsidize <br />double the numirc lations. Conclusion... we are not doing well enough. He asked for incrased <br />library support ide. Provide equivilant library services to all citizens. Deve a means to reimburse <br />the ch library fs wh are not residents of ch. <br />Ag: appropriatioin on the coun side and for the schools we give a total amount to each school system. <br />We take account of what you re es but we do give a lump school. <br />Carla Turner need more nurses to elp with the assessment of the health of our children. Thereis no fluff. They need the money. The 13 <br />science teacher would be cut if the do not get the fund. More EOC tests than any other department and <br />soonwill have 2 more. More students are taking more science. Safety is a concern. We need to keep the <br />class sizes within the state maximum. Personnell issues are critical. This is when the need to hire them. <br />Ann Chockley, spoke in support of the Orange County budg . Department Chair in Math. All program <br />areas need to be supported. All stood. <br />Susanne Tilley, two children in the orange county system and�president of the pta and substitute teachers. <br />Please support the year round program . Spanish in the middl schools. Nurses, Reading recovery. <br />Angela Rose... spoke in support of the budget but at her school $sked for additional core teacher. Keep <br />class size low. Full time reading teacher and we need reading r overy. <br />Micelle Rimmer and spoke in spport of the Macks.....here to sup rt the budget for the entire system. <br />There is not fluff in the budget. <br />Peter Kramer, a parent and a social work in the schools. Some of th items that are important at stanford is <br />a clerical assistant. They dispense medication 50 people per day. An ssistant for the band director. C.W. <br />Stanford's band is excellent beginning to get national recognition. G t those kids to pay. She is brilliant <br />teacher.
