Mr. Gattia advised the Hoard that he had included $100,000.00 <br />in the budget for this item and that through the debt retirement method the County <br />might be able to add another $200,000.00 to the item. Coamaissioner Flora Garrett <br />and Commissioner Richard ~ Whitted suggested that the Board might consider a Bond <br />Issue and that acme might be sold as a package for Chapel Hill and biillaborough <br />and would include a new jail plea appropriate office apace for both sections of <br />the County.. <br />Commissioner Henry S. Walker said he "believed the Board had done brought <br />up enough". He spoke of the lack oP participation oP Federal funding in programs <br />that had been Snitiated•by the Federal government. <br />Chairman Norman Walker stated that h® agreed that all the items that had been <br />brought np were needed. 8e 'stated he would like to have the Board consider <br />hiring a Consultant Firm ter the purpose of making a survey and working 3n aonjuaa- <br />tion with a Planner. M sauasion ensued. <br />Mr. Clattis advised the Board that he had prepared as Administrative Budget <br />that he planned to present to the Board and that if the Board adopted the proposals <br />it would oast the County well over $50,000.00. 8e pointed out that it was now <br />just about impossible Por him to prepare the budget, and secure information <br />needed by the Board. Mr. Gattis stated "T don't even go home anymore. I work <br />Saturdays and Sundays and Ism tired of sitting at the meetings and not having <br />the information you need to help you do your fobs more attentively. I dop~t <br />get to do any county managing because Tim off doing aounty junking." <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meting was <br />adjourned to meat again on Tuesday, May 28, 19TLG, at 8 P. M. as a Board of <br />Equalization and Review, <br />C. Norman Walker, Chairman <br />Betty rune Hayes, Clerk <br />
