Recommended Resolution <br />Submitted for consideration for immediate Chapel Hill Town Council adoption <br />by "RENA" -Rogers-Eubanks Neighborhood Association and "LEER" ~- The Coalition <br />to End Environmental Racism <br />Resolution in Favor of Providing Essential OwASA Wader and Sewer Services <br />Connections To ALL of the Residences of the Historic Rogers-Eubanks Community <br />Whereas the .Chapel Hill Town Council recognizes that the historic Rogers-Eubanks <br />Community has endured the negative impact of nearby solid waste facilities on the <br />Community's air, land and water environment for more than 35 years; and <br />whereas the Chapel Hill Town. Council ,also recognizes that the Historic Rogers-Eubanks <br />Community will contihue to bear the burden of the county landfill and other solid waste <br />facilities on the Community's residential air, land and water environment for at least <br />another three years when the present landfill is scheduled to close and after its closure; <br />and <br />Whereas the Chapel Hill Town Council seeks to . support Environmental Justice -and <br />oppose Environmental Racism within the Town of Chapel Hill and ~~range County <br />through forward-thinking and progressive action on behalf of ALL members of our <br />community; <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Chapel Hill Town Council unanimously agrees to <br />within 30 days of this date, develop an implementation timeline for providing C~VASA <br />water and sewer connections to all of those residences in the Historic Rogers-Eubanks <br />Community presently without functioning connections. Funding options to be determined <br />by the Chapel Hill Town Council in cooperation with the Board of County <br />Commissioners of grange County, NC and Carrboro Board of Alderman. . <br />
