Commissioner <br />Norman Walker and Melvin Whitfield stated they preferr ed the schedule as on inally <br />drafter. This proposal allowed some soil classes to b e appraised lass than 200.00 <br />per acre. <br />Chairman Walker called for a vote on the motion. Commissicners Richard E. <br />Whitted, Flora Garrett and Henry S. Walker voted aye. Commissioners Melvin <br />Whitfield and C. Norman Walker voted nay. Chairman 4lalker then declared the motion <br />passed. <br />Rex Savery, Attorney at Law, appeared before the Board in behalf of Marvin <br />Norwood in an appeal from the decision of the Orange County Board of D~ualizatian and <br />Review. Mr, Savery requested the Board to waive the provisions of the General <br />Statutes that require an appellant to file his appeal within thirty days after <br />receiving notice from the Board of Equalization and Review. Mr. Savery filed with the <br />$oard a aopy of a letter that stated the reason he Pelt this request was va15.d. <br />lTiscussion ensued. <br />
