The C1erY. advised the Board of the background of said request. <br />Chairman Walker recognized Adger Wilson. Mr. Wilson presented a preliminary <br />plat for Stoneybrook. <br />Clayton Haithcvck, Zoning Officer, advised the Board that the County Planning <br />Board had approved the preliminary plat oP Stoneybrook. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Henry S. Walker, seconded by Commissioner Flora <br />Garrett, the preliminary plat of Stoneybrook was approved. <br />The Zoning Of~ioer presented the following plats: <br />1. Mary S. Alberton, 2.35 acres in Chapel Hi11 Township dated January 23, <br />19711. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded said plat was approved. <br />2. James H. Byrd, 2.02 acres in Eno Township dated January 2, 1974. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Richard E. Whitted, seconded by Commissioner <br />Henry S. Walker, it was moved and adopted that said plat be approved. <br />3. Marvin L. Poythresa, 1 lot dated January !{, 1R71}. <br />Discussion ensued concerning lot size. It appeared that the lot did not <br />contain the proper amount of footage for an acre. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Richard E. Whitted, aecoaded by Commissioner <br />Henry S. Walker, it was moved and adopted that said map be referred back to the <br />owner for a clarification of the proper dimentivns. <br />11. Charles V, Briscoe, 2 lots ].l~A & B Oak Hi11 Subdivision dated January <br />30, 1971+. <br />IIpon motion of Comvissioner Henry S. Walker, seconded by Commiasieaer F].ora <br />Garrett, it was moved and adopted, that said plat be approved. <br />Chairman Walker referred to Item ~4 of the Agenda: (Mark Burnham: Triangle <br />J Council of Governments: Review and discussion of County Water and Sewer <br />Extension Pvligy.) <br />Commiasivnor Flora Garrett stated that she knew oP two instances where water <br />lines had been installed since the Water/Sewer Policy had been adopted. <br />Mark Burnham was requested to review the wording of the adopted policy. It <br />was agreed that a series of conferences were needed between the units of government <br />that install water lines and the Board. The County Administrator stated a policy <br />can never be enforced unless all parties agreed to adhere to the agreements <br />contained in said policy, Further discussion ensued. It was decided that a point <br />meeting of the Boards of Aldermen of the towns within the county and the University <br />of North Carolina should be arranged. The County Administrator was requested to <br />see if Thursday, March 111, at 8 P.M. wsa agreeable with the others that would be <br />involved in said meeting. <br />Chairman Walker referred to Item ~#3 of the Agenda: (Mr. Fred Parker: <br />Representing the Orange County Emergency Medical Servioea Committee: To request <br />the Board of County Commissioners approve local. legislation relating to personal <br />1'i ability of certified ambulance attendants in their performance of certain duties.) <br />Chairman Walker recognized Mr. Fred Parker and Dr. Sara Dent. The Board was <br />presented with copies of Senate Bill m12110. Said Bill was entitled "An Aot to <br />Authorize the Training and Utilization of F7nergency Medical Technicians" Senate <br />Bill ~r1205 was entitled "An Act To Exempt Volunteer Rescue Squads and Lifesavinga <br />Crews of Cleveland, Gaston Lincoln and Rutherford Counties from the Requirements <br />of G.S. 7.30-323 (a) (b) (ci and (a). <br />Dr. Dent was thorough and specific in her explanation of why Senate Bill #12110 <br />was essential to the savings and ],ives and based on her firm belief that all persona <br />in the Ekaergency Medical Technician field should be adequately trained she requested <br />the Board to oppose Senate Bill ~r7.205. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Henry S, Walker, seconded by Commissioner Melvin <br />Whitfield, it was moved and adopted, that the Orange County .Board endorse Senate <br />Bill ~r1240 and that if the proposed legislation is not adopted on a state-wide <br />- basis then the Board requests that Orange County~s representatives secure a local <br />enactment that would accomplish the purposes that are set forth in Senate Sill x'12110. <br />
