45 <br /> 7) The current expense appropriation for Schools is $34,537,104. The appropriation to the Chapel Hill- <br /> Carrboro City Schools is $20,085,168 and the appropriation to the Orange County Schools is <br /> $14,451,936. The per pupil allocation is $2,256. <br /> 8) The property tax rate shall be set at 91.9 cents per$100 of assessed valuation. <br /> 9) The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School District Tax shall be set at 22.0 cents per$100 of assessed <br /> valuation. <br /> 10) The Fire District tax rates shall be set at the following rates (all rates are based on cents per$100 of <br /> assessed valuation): <br /> Cedar Grove 6.30 <br /> Chapel Hill 2.50 <br /> Damascus 3.00 <br /> Efland 3.00 <br /> Eno 5.10 <br /> Little River 4.65 <br /> New Hope 5.15 still undecided <br /> Orange Grove 4,40 <br /> Orange Rural 4,00 <br /> South Orange 8,80 <br /> Southern Triangle 3,00 <br /> White Cross 5.80 <br /> 11) Provide for a County pay and benefits plan that includes: <br /> • Cost of Living Adjustment $473,423 <br /> 2.0% increase for all permanent employees effective July 1, 1999 <br /> • In-Range Salary Increases $267,454 <br /> 2.5% salary increase if performance is proficient or higher. Increase awarded with <br /> performance review. <br /> • Meritorious Service Awards $159,779 <br /> Funds for program of meritorious Service Awards with two levels of award: <br /> Exceptional - $1,500 lump sum and Superior- $750 lump sum. <br /> • 401(k)Plan Contribution $207,870 <br /> $15 per pay period supplemental retirement contribution effective July 1, 1999 for <br /> each permanent employee not already receiving State mandated contribution of 5 <br /> percent for sworn law enforcement officers. <br /> 12) Adopt the Schedule of County Fees. <br />
