BACKGROUND: Budget Ordinance - At the June 15, 1999, Budget work session, the Board of County Commissioners adopted a Resolution of Intent to Adopt the Budget for the 1999-00 budget. These changes, summarized at Attachment 1, result in a net decrease in the Manager's Recommended budget of $406,354, bringing the total General Fund Budget to $100,215,148. The General Fund Property Tax Rate is set at 91.9 cents per $100 assessed valuation. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Special District Tax is set at 22 cents per $100 assessed valuation. Grant Project Ordinances - Included in the 1999-00 budget are short term State and Federally funded projects which are accounted for in a separate fund and are shown in the Budget on the associated departmental pages under "Other Funds." Attachment 2 lists these grant projects, showing the total appropriation through 1999-00 for each project for which authorization ends as of June 30, 1999.
