<br />DRAFT <br />1 <br />10 ' <br />MINUTES <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MAY 26,1999 <br />Members Present: Tom Allison, Chair <br />Jean Anderson <br />Rachel Gaya <br />Carolyn Conner <br />Members Absent: Bob Rich <br />Brenda Vanhook <br />Staff Present: Don Belk, Preservation Planner <br />Carol Crawford, Administrative Assistant <br />Public Present: Robert Golan and Diana Montgomery, The Elms owners <br />Mr. and Mrs. Bill Coleman, adjacent property owners <br />AGENDA ITEM #1: CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Allison called the meeting to order at approximately 7:05 p.m. <br />AGENDA ITEM #2: CONSIDERATIONS OF ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />A recommendation to move the June 23 meeting to early July was suggested as being added to Status <br />Report Item. <br />AGENDA ITEM #3: APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />a. April 28, 1999 <br />MOTION: Anderson moved to approve the minutes for March 24, 1999. Seconded by Allison. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. <br />AGENDA ITEM #4: CHAIR COMMENTS <br />Chairman Allison expressed welcome to new Member Carolyn Conner and to public attending the Public <br />Hearing. <br />AGENDA ITEM #5: PUBLIC HEARING ON A NOMINATION TO THE NATIONAL <br />REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES: <br />a. P-2-99 MAUDE FAUCETTE HOUSE (THE ELMS), OR #1376 <br />Chairman Allison opened the public hearing and thanked the owners, Robert Golan and Diana <br />Montgomery, of The Elms for their participation in the program. <br />Belk presented a staff report on the Maude Faucette House explaining the steps that had occurred to place <br />the property on the National Register of Historic Places Nomination as noted: <br />G:\CAROL\HPC\MAY99MIN.DOC <br />
