Said letter stated that <br />the Planning Hoard went "on record to exDresa its confidence in Mr. Haithcoak's <br />integrity and ability as Zoning Officer.'' <br />The Chairman referred to Item ~2 of the Agenda: (Orange Grove Volunteer <br />Fire Association! Thep contained a tdtal of 257 signatures of resident <br />freeholders: <br />PETITION FOR FIRE DISTRICT ELECTION <br />THE UNDERSIGNED, being RESIDENT FREEHOLDERS living in a district lying <br />outside the corporate limits of any city or town, which district is described <br />below in this petition and shall hereafter be designated as the ORANGE GROVE <br />FIRE DISTRICT, petition the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR ORANGE COUNTY to call <br />an election in said district for the purpose of submitting to the qualified <br />voters therein the question of levying and collecting a special tax on all <br />taxable property in said district, of an amount not exceeding fifteen cents <br />($.15) of the one hundred dollars ($100.00) valuation of property, for the <br />purpose of providing fire protection in said district.
