To: Alice Gordon, Chair
Dr_ Stephen Halkiotis, Vice Chair
Mr. Moses Carey, Commissioner
Margaret Brown, Commissioner
Barry Jacobs, Commissioner
John Link, County Manages;
From: Sheriff Lindy
Re: Fireworks Orange
July 4, 1999
Date: June 2, 1999
We have been asked to write a letter to Orange County Commissioners and County
Manager regarding safety at the fireworks display at Orange Speedway on July 4, 1999.
Orange Speedway Management has stated that they had contacted EMS, l,rfike Tapp, who
had stated all regulations were covered for them to have the event. It was also requested
that we state that off -duty law enforcement would be on the premises working when the
display was conducted.
The only other item, which was needed, would be a letter from us stating they " Orange
Speedway " was going to provide adequate fire safety measures for the event and safety
for citizens observing.
flaying this information and Orange Speedway's statement that EMS has approved their
request and only needed our letter for final approval. I conclude they have met all
requirements and hope their permit will be issued.
