Summers, Health Director <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: - -ext. 2412 <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: Health Department Contract with the tJNC School of Pharmacy <br />BACKGROUND: The Health Department contracts with the UNC School of Pharmacy for a <br />faculty member to provide oversight and consultation to the department's pharmacy. North <br />Carolina state law requires pharmacist supervision of any pharmaceutical services. The department <br />operates a limited pharmacy in both locations -Chapel Hill and Hillsborough. There are no <br />controlled substances in either pharmacy. The contract is for $5,000 for the services specified in the <br />contract. There are no changes from the previous year's contract. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The $5,000 is included in the approved 1999-2000 departmental budget. <br />RECOMMENDATON(S): The Manager recommends approval of the 1999-2000 contract with <br />the LTNC School of Pharmacy. <br />
