Accomplishments - Past Five Years • Renovations to Orange High School Tennis Courts (Jointly with Orange County Schools - County share $40,030). • Renovations to tot -lot playground at the Northern Human Services Center ($9,200 plus $14,000' Smart-Start grant). • Purchased 40 acres adjoining the Northern Human Services Center ($110,000). • Developed Efland- Cheeks Community School /Park Master Plan and began construction of Phase I. ($84,575 for plan, $756,000 for construction contract, Phase I. Total to date: $840,575) 2. Town of Chanel Hill 1996 Parks and Recreation Facilities Bond Funds $5 million 1996 Land Acquisition for Open Space and Greenways $3 million 1989 Parks and Open Space Bond Funds - $5 million • . Funded the following projects: Merritt Pasture ($400,000), Bolin Creek Greenway Part III ($161,273), Northern Community Park ($1.25 million for acquisition, $1.05 million for development), Southern Community Park (north tract $679,000) and other smaller projects 1986 Parks and Open Space Bond Funds $2.5 million • Funded Southern Community Park (south tract - $1.046 million), Pritchard Park ($665,000) and several small projects 1976 Parks Bond - $2.65 million • Funded Cedar Falls Park, Chapel Hill Community Center, Umstead Park, five balifields, 20 tennis courts and Hargraves Recreation Center 3.
