3 <br /> <br /> <br />litigation over any land u-se decision contrary to the <br />developer's request. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />Commissioners of Orange County that: <br />1. it opposes enactment of either H.R. 2372 or S. 1028 <br />and opposes the enactment of any similar federal legislation <br />attempting to change local, state and federal relationships with <br />respect to land use regulations; <br />2. it urges the members of the United States House of <br />Representatives and the United States Senate to oppose and vote <br />against H.R. 2372 and S. 1028 and any comparable bills; <br />3. it urges the President of the United States to veto <br />any such legislation, in the event any such legislation passes <br />Congress; <br />4. it authorizes the Chair of the Board of Orange County <br />Commissioners to transmit this resolution with an appropriate <br />cover letter to President Clinton, Senators Edwards and Helms, <br />and Representative Price. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner <br />seconded by <br />Commissioner the foregoing resolution was adopted <br />this the 23rd day of August, 1999. <br />I, Beverly A.
