Since then <br />the members of the Board have assessed existing property and <br />facilities owned by the Town and have assigned some priorities for <br />implementation of the Master Plan. Several projects are ongoing. <br />Funding has been allocated and/or is being requested for these <br />projects. Some funding has been allocated for construction. <br />The most immediate recreation needs, based on the original survey <br />and subsequent requests by townspeople, include (not necessarily in <br />order of need): <br />a) Playing fields for organized sports <br />b) Basketball courts <br />c) Safe places to walk and bicycle <br />d) Playgrounds within safe walking distance of residences <br />e) Neighborhood parks <br />f) Skateboard facilities <br />C. Standards <br />See Section VII for recommendations on the development of coordinated <br />standards. See Appendix D for existing standards. <br />D. Status of .Previous Bonds and Projects <br />Constructed <br />In previous years, different jurisdictions have issued bonds for recreation and. <br />parks projects. A number of existing facilities used by County and Town <br />residents were funded through these bonds. The following is a listing of <br />bonds approved and projects constructed or other accomplishments in the <br />past five years. <br />1.
