FY 1999 -2000 1 <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF CONMUSSIONERS <br />PROPOSED GOAL <br />Prepared: 03/31/99 <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />GOAL STATEMENT: To adopt and implement a strategic communications plan that promotes more effective communication between <br />and among the Board of Commissioners and Orange County citizens, other local officials and within the BOCC <br />Goal Initiated/Proposed By: Board of County Commissioners <br />Most Recent Version Adopted by BOCC: November 1997 <br />Staff from the County Manager's Office and Commissioners Office regularly work on various public information initiatives and projects. In <br />1998, the News Group, comprised of BOCC Chair, Clerk to the Board, Information Specialist, County Manager, and Management Analyst was <br />established to assess county communication efforts. Staff, in collaboration with the News Group, completed the following projects for the year: <br />■ EMS promotional activities (brochure, PowerPoint presentation) <br />■ Southern Human Services Center Dedication Activities <br />■ Continued development of County Web Page <br />■ County Government Week Activities <br />■ Master Recreation & Parks PowerPoint Presentation <br />■ Land Use Tax PowerPoint Presentation <br />■ Cable TV Programming on County Government <br />■ Governor's Children's Health Initiative Announcement Ceremony at County Courthouse <br />■ Judge David G. Ross, Commissioner of Federal Office' of Child Support Enforcement <br />■ News Releases (one to five news releases per month originating from News Group) <br />■ Public Information Inventory/Catalog of all County Publications <br />■ County Government Department Directory <br />s� <br />
