CHAPTER 3 -SPACE -SERVICE RELATIONSHIPS <br />Meeting Three <br />Services The. "citizen-focused" model for delivery of services, developed <br />during meeting two, was reviewed and discussed in further <br />detail. Use issues and services suggested in conjunction with <br />traditional justice functions were applied and tested against <br />stated Mission Statement objectives. <br />Extensive discussion followed regazding additional services and <br />activities that could be provided; i.e., Post Office, medical clinic,. <br />caz service center, press room; as well as non-traditional uses of <br />the facilities; i.e., evening and weekend hours of .operation, <br />extensive multipurpose/mufti-use spaces within the building(s). <br />Ranking All agencies and services discussed were provided a ranking as a <br />means of prioritizing their inclusion in ,the facility/complex: <br />This ranking included the following categories: <br />Required: Superior Court, District Court, <br />District Attorney, Public Defender, <br />Clerk of Court, Adult Probation & Parole, <br />- Sheriff, etc. <br />Preferred: Computer Center, Child Caze, ATM, <br />Restaurant (food services), Press Room, <br />DMV, eta <br />Convenient: Teaching Facility, Public Library, <br />Wellness Center, Attorney (private use) <br />Offices, Caz Service Center, <br />Medical Center, etc. <br />Location Issues Discussion then focused on location issues. Predominately; <br />Site location (s) within the County relative to population <br />centers; <br />Appropriateness of individual agencies maintaining <br />multiple locations. <br />Accessibility Client and user accessibility was emphasized in each instance. <br />The consensus reached was that for the foreseeable future, a <br />Courts/Justice presence would be necessary in both Hillsborough <br />and Chapel Hill. <br />3-1 <br />
