These doors are <br /> considered fire doors and must remain closed or close when fire alarm is activated. The <br /> purpose of the fire door is to prevent the spread of fire. The door in rear of kitchen <br /> cannot be opened by kitchen staff. If there was a fire in the kitchen and the main door <br /> was blocked an officer would have to go around the perimeter of the jail and open the <br /> door.
