To Whom It May Concern: This letter is being sent to inform you that the Orange County Board of County Commissioners has scheduled a PUBLIC HEARING to consider amendments to the Orange County Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Atlas to incorporate Flood Damage Prevention standards as a new Special Flood Hazard Area Zoning Overlay District. Your property is presently affected by the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. By adding these standards to our Zoning Ordinance a notification must occur. This change in code location does not cause any additional restrictions to your property. The effects of this proposed zoning overlay district are similar. You have the right to address the Board concerning this action. Special Flood Hazard Area Zoning Overlay District standards (also known as floodways/floodplains) will restrict the use of land within the district boundary. The proposed ordinance, zoning atlas amendments, and specific maps are available in the Orange County Planning Department at 306-F, Revere Road,Hillsborough during normal working hours(8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.)
