ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: February 17, 2009 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 4-- <br /> SUBJECT: Orange County Landfill Sewer Dedication to OWASA <br /> DEPARTMENT: Purchasing PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> OWASA Dedication Form—Sewer Line Pam Jones, 919-245-2652 <br /> Utility Easement Plat Geof Gledhill, 919-732-2196 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider dedicating a sewer utility line to the Orange Water and Sewer <br /> Authority (OWASA) constructed to serve the Orange County Landfill and Animal Services <br /> Facility. <br /> BACKGROUND: The County's new sewer line along Eubanks Road that will connect the <br /> Landfill and the Animal Services Facility is nearing completion and final commissioning. Part of <br /> this commissioning is the normal OWASA request that the County dedicate the built lines to <br /> OWASA so they may be properly serviced. <br /> The easement is depicted on the attached Utility Easement Plat. No tree removal within the <br /> easement area is required. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the dedication to <br /> OWASA of a sewer utility line constructed to serve the Orange County Landfill and Animal <br /> Services Facility, contingent upon final Attorney review; and authorize the Chair to sign on <br /> behalf of the Board. <br />
