,•-•S '7 "'~~ 523 MINUTES OF THE OR4NGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />January 30, 1973 <br />The Board of County Coaaa2asionera of Orange County met in special session <br />on Tuesday, January 30, 1973, st 8:00 P.M. in the District Courtroom of the <br />Courthouse in Hillsborough. <br />Members Present: Chairman C. Norman Walker and CoIImiissinnera b'lora Garrett, ^i <br />Henry S. Walker and Richard Whitted. <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Ira A. Ward. <br />J <br />This meeting was held in order that the Board of Comsaiseionera might meet <br />with a representative of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Utility Authority. Roland <br />McClamroek, Jr. and Robert Oaka,appearad before the Board and gave a brief summary <br />of the things the Authority had been doing in order to acquire all or a part of <br />the University Utility Properties when the University disposes of these systems. <br />Mr. McClamrock stated that the Authority needed to finanoe a budget of about <br />$b6,000.00. The Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro had each agreed to assume one-third oP the <br />necessary financing and the Authority hoped the County would agree to assume the <br />other one-third of the projected oust. Mr. McClamroc'd also presented to the <br />Board of Co~isaioners letters of endorsement of the Authorities efforts • <br />that were written today by both the Towns of Carrboro and Chapel Mill. Chairman <br />Walker advised Mr. McClamrock and Mr. Oaks the Board oP Commissioners would take <br />this matter under advisement and let the Authority know of its decision as soon <br />as possible. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />C.
