BOOx 7 PAGE 518 <br />A letter from Grace Bailey concerning commeraisl development along the <br />Durham-Chapel fii11 Boulevard was received. The Clerk wee instructed to forward <br />same to the County Planning Board and to the Chanel Hill Planning Board. <br />The Board was advised that Don Cox, President of the Eno Society for the <br />Preservation of the Eno River, had presented four dates which would be available <br />for the scheduling of a point meeting of the society and the Board. It was <br />agreed that the meeting would be set for Monday, January 1S, 1973, at 7:30 P. M. <br />and it was further agreed that a meeting with Bynum Weaver of the Chapel Hill <br />Funeral Home and the South Orange Rescue Squad should be scheduled for <br />Tuesday, January 16, 1973, at 7:30 P. M. <br />L. M. Cheshire, Jr. presented a plat ent3,tled property of J. C. Parsons. <br />Mr, Cheshire advised the Board that the plat had been approved by the Cavnty <br />Planning Board. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Richard Whitted, seconded by Commissioner Tra <br />A. Ward, it was moved aad adopted, that the Chairman and the County Administrator <br />be authorized to sign the certificate of approval on said plat. <br />Commissioner Ira A. Ward stated that he had received a request from Wilbur <br />Autz for the County to aonaider abolishing the fee system Por use of the newly <br />opened landfill area. Discussion ensued. <br />Commissioner Flora Garrett stated that aha felt the County should take a <br />position relative to the policy of securing permits for dumping and opening the <br />landfill area on Saturday. Someone else suggested that there existed a need for <br />$ dumpBr area outside the fenced area Por the benefit of citizens who could not <br />arrange to use the landfill during the hours that the landfill was open. 2t <br />was pointed out that the dumping on roadaidea and private property was becoming <br />an acute problem for County residents. The County Administrator was instrueted <br />to bring these matters to the attention of Robert Feck, Manager of the Town oP <br />Chapel Hill and to report the results of his dissuasion back to the Board. <br />Thera being no further business to coma before the Board the meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on Thursday, January 11, ].973, at 7:30 P.AI., Monday, <br />January 15, 1973, at 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 16, 1973, at 7:30 P.M, and <br />Wednesday, January 17, 1973, at $ P.24. <br />Betty June Reyes, Clerk <br />C. Norman Walker, Chairman <br />MINiFPES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />January 11, 1973 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in special session <br />on Thursday, January 11, 1973, at 7;30 P.M. in the District Courtroom of the <br />Courthouse in Hillsborough. <br />Members Present: Chairman C. Norman Walker, and Commissioners Flora Garrett <br />and Richard Whitted. <br />Members Absent; Commissioners Ira A. Ward and Henry S. Walker. <br />--Chairman Walker stated that this Executive Session had been called for the <br />purpose of discussing the purchase of land for the Seven Mile Creek Reservoir. <br />No detail minutes of the discussion were recorded. , <br />There being no further business to Dome bef e+the Board the meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on Monday, January 15, 1973, at 7:30 P.M. <br />C.
