BQOK 7 PAGE 517 <br />3. That the public will be served by permitting abandonment and <br />aloaing as publin street the portion of the area formerly included in the <br />right-of-way of said 60-foot unnamed drive herein specifically described <br />and that such abandonment and closing will be in promotion of the public <br />convenienoe and welfare. <br />1}. This RESOLUTION and the closing and abandonment of the described <br />portion of the area formerly inoluded in the right-of-way of said 60-foot <br />unnamed roadway sa apeaifically described above shall be in full force and <br />effect on and after the 2nd day of January, 1973. <br />5. A certified copy of this RESOLUTION is hereby ordered to be <br />recorded in the Office of the Register-of Deeds in Orange County." <br />Discussion ensued concerning establishing as agenda for the regular first <br />monthly meeting of the Board. The County Attorney suggested that the Board <br />have a nut off date Por listing items of business on the agenda. He stated <br />that any item could be brought before the Soard upon a unanimous vote of the <br />Board. Some objeationa arose ooncerning a Pirm cut off date. Further <br />discussion ensued. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner 2ra A. Ward, seconded by Commissioner Henry S. <br />Walker, it was moved and adopted, that the following Resolution be unanimously <br />adopted; <br />"TT3AT the County Administrator prepare for cash regular meeting <br />an agenda; <br />THEREFORE, Shat matters to be brought before the Commissioners shall <br />be in the hands of the County Administrator by 10 A. M. on the Wednesday <br />immediately proceeding each regular meeting; <br />THAT matters not appearing on the agenda may be heard upon request <br />at the conaluaion of business appearing on the agenda. <br />It was agreed that an executive session would be sahedvled on January <br />11, 1973, at 7;30 p.m. for the purpose of disauasing the Seven Mile Creak Reservoir <br />Project. <br />The following letter from the Orange County Planning Soard wee presented: <br />"The Orange County Planning Board reaommenda disapproval of the <br />Extraotive Use Amendment as written, and has recommended to Mr. M~.rk <br />Burnham that the Triangle J Counoil of Governments work with the Planning <br />Board on changes that would make the amendment acceptable. Also, the <br />Planning Board wishes to go on record as recommending that the County <br />Commissioners look into the possibility of purchasing the University <br />Water Service." <br />Upan motion of Commissioner Ira A. Ward, seconded by Commissioner Richard <br />Whitted, it was moved and unanimously adopted, that the recommendation of the <br />County Planning Board relative to the proposed ERtractive Use Amendment be <br />deferred for further atudg. <br />Mark Burnham promised that a prompt revision of the proposed amendment <br />would be forthcoming. <br />The Tax Supervisor stated that there were several releases that the Board <br />needed to act upon. He stated that Thomas G. Scott had moved to Orange County <br />on January 4, 197p, but that he had listed his property taxes in Durham County. <br />Mr. Gattia stated that a letter had been received by the Durham County Tax <br />pepartment certifying that Mr. Scott had listed his property on time in that <br />County, therefore, he was requesting that the late listing penalty against Mr. <br />Scott be released. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Henry S. Walker, seconded by Commissioner Flora <br />Garrett, it was moved and adopted, that the late listing penalty charged against <br />Thom&s G. Scott be released. <br />The Tax Supervisor stated that the LTi.llsboraugh 3avinga & Loan Association <br />had paid an incorrect tax bill for George J. Mayo in the amount of X99.66 and <br />that they were requesting that this money be refunded to the Savings and Loan. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Flora Garrett, seconded by Commissioner <br />Richard Whitted, it was moved and adopted, that a refund of $99.66 be made to the <br />.~_ Hillsborough Savings 8c Loan Association. <br />
