<br />--,:< 7 ~ ~^F 513 <br />Commissioner Ira A. Ward brought the matter of the request for financial, <br />assistance that had been presented by the South Orange Rescue Squad. He stated <br />that he leans towards his first suggestion oP a $10,000.00 annual appropriation. <br />Commissioner Flora Garrett brought to the attention oP the Board the Pact <br />that a new rescue squad had recently been formed in the New Hope area. <br />-- The County Administrator stated that he felt the County should re-evaluate <br />all financial assistants to ambulance service in the County and form some type of <br />Format for the finding of the reapeative units. Tt was agreed that a point meeting <br />with Bynum Weaver, Chapel Hi11 Funeral .Home and repreaentativea of the South <br />Orange Rescue Squad should be scheduled for the purpose oP discussing the matter <br />of ambulance aerviae. <br />Commissioner Ira A. Ward stated that he wished to share some of his <br />responsibilities on the various Boards with the two new Commissioners; however, <br />he did wish to retain his position on the Mental Health Board. The new <br />Co~niaeionera inquired as to which agency Boards the Commissioners were expected <br />to provide representation Prom the membership of the Board. Commissioner Ward <br />stated that the Triangle Council of Government, the Law and Order Committee and <br />the Orange-Chatham Community Action Committee were fuat a few of the agencies <br />that required membership from the Board of Commissioners. <br />There being no further buainese to some before the Board the meeting wsa <br />adjourned tc meet again in Executive Session on Thursday, December ].!}, 1972. <br />C. Norman Walker, Chairman <br />Betty dune Hayes, Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COIINTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />December ll~., 1972 <br />The Board of Count Commissioners of Orange County met in Executive Session <br />on Thursday, December 1~}, 1972, at 7:30 o~clock.P.M. in the District Courtroom <br />of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Norman Walser and Commissioners Henry S. Walker, <br />Ira A. Ward, Flora Garrett and Richard E. Whitted. <br />Also present was C. D. Knight, Sheriff, and Betty dune Hayes, Register of <br />Deeds. <br />I <br />Chairman Walker recognized William S. Christian, Supervisor, Position <br />Classification Service, Office of State Personnel and Cameron West, dr. also <br />from the State Feraonnel Office. Mr. Christian presented to each member of the <br />Board and to each department official copies of the "Pad Plan"°and 'Position <br />Classification Plan" which had been prepared by his department. Discuss'ion' <br />ensue as o e purpose of the plan as viexed by the State Personnel Office. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />C.
