4 <br /> Sheriff Department <br /> 15. The Orange County Sheriff's Department has received notification of a Community <br /> Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Technology Program grant award from the U.S. <br /> Department of Justice totaling $116,913. This grant provides monies for the purchase of <br /> a new fingerprint/palm print scan system. This budget amendment provides for the <br /> receipt of these grant funds for the above stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column <br /> #7 and COPS 2008 Technology Program Grant Project Ordinance) <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are included in the background information above. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board of County Commissioners <br /> approve the budget, grant project and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year <br /> 2008-09. <br />
