Mr. Haithaoak advised <br />the Board that the County Planning Board approved this plat with the exception <br />of lot #8 and lot #1 and that these lots would be approved aub5ect to a <br />percolation test. <br />IIpon motion of Commissioner Ira A. Ward, seconded by Commissioner William <br />C. Ray, it was moved and adopted, that the Board approve the final plat of <br />Crestwood on the same basis as those established by the County Planning Board. <br />The County Planning Officer requested the $oard to call a public hearing <br />on Monday, November 27, 1972, at 7:30 o~cloc~s P. M. for the purpose of __ - <br />considering the "Eztraotive Use" section of the zoning ordinanoe. Mr. Haithoock <br />advised the Board that the County Planning Board was requesting the $oard to <br />establish a regularly scheduled Quarterly public hearing date. He stated that <br />it was the feeling of the Board that this would be more convenient for the <br />public and for the members of the Board. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William C. Ray, seconded by Commissioner Henry <br />S. Walker, it was moved and adopted that the Board establish a set date for <br />public hearings relative to zoning matters on the last Monday of the months of <br />November, 1972, February, May and August of 1973. <br />P~Lr. Haithaoak advised the Board that the terms of Dr. Clarence 3ockwell <br />and Preston Hagan as members of the County Planning Board had expired and that <br />the Board needed to appoint two new members to the County Planning Board. <br />The following letter was presented from L. M. Cheshire, Sr., to the Board: <br />"Re: E. 0. Hardee Rezoning Request <br />Dear Sira; <br />At its regularly scheduled meeting, August 21, 1972, the <br />Orange County Planning Board, upon motion of Dr. Sonar, with <br />a second by Mr. Mical, unanimously recommended that E. 0. <br />Hardee~a request for rezoning from residential to "Mobile <br />Home Park" be denied." <br />IIpon motion of Commissioner William C. Ray, seconded by Commissioner Ira A. <br />Ward, it was moved and adopted, that the recommendation of the County Planning <br />Board relative to the request of E. 0. Hardee be approved. <br />Chairman Bennett recognized Fred Cates, Mayer of the Town of Hillsborough. <br />Mayor Cates requested that the road to the Valley Forge Plant be Homed in order <br />that said plant might be given a mailing address. He suggested that the Board <br />name the road in honor of C. I. Walters, former Highway Supervisor. <br />IIpon motion of Commissioner William C. Ray, seconded by Commi.saioner Henry <br />S. Walker, it was moved and adopted that the road which leads to the Valley <br />Forge Plant be named the Walters Road in honor of C. I. Walters. <br />Mayor Cates requested that a road located in the Fairview section of Hillsborough <br />and designated as SR #1330, which is .7 miles in length, be paved. He stated ' <br />that a petition on this road had been submitted in the past few year a. Chairman <br />Bennett requested the C].erk to contact the State Highway Commission and have them ~ <br />check the status of this road. I <br />It was brought to the attention of the Board that Hulan Bradaher and <br />Osoar Besaley of Cedar Grove had requested that a road that rune off of SR #1545 <br />be assumed by the State Highway Commission for maintenance sa the first .6 mile <br />was already on the state system. The additional .3 mile was an extension and it <br />served the Cedar Grove Community Building and other homes in the area. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Norman Walker, seconded by Commissioner William <br />C. Ray, it was moved and adopted, that the Board request the Stets Highway <br />Commission to assume the additional .3 mile that serves the Cedar Grove Community <br />building. <br />Chairman Bennett recognized E. M. Hines, Sr. Mr. Hines presented the <br />following petition.
