Ward, it was moved and adopted, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />approve the closing of Bramble Road in Section Three of Willow Ridge Subdivision <br />provided that the Durham County Board of Commissioners also approve the petition <br />for the closing of said road. <br />Vice Chairman Henry S. Walker recognized Mrs. R. W. Islet', President of <br />the Hillsborough Ristoriaal Society and Mr a. Islet' in turn introduced Dan Shepherd, <br />Mr a. Lena Moore and Dr. Charles Blake to the members of the Board. Mrs. Islet' <br />requested the Board consider allocating additional space to the museum and also <br />requested that one of the rooms on the first floor of the Old Courthouse be <br />allocated to the Commission aad to the Society for office purposes and a welcome <br />center for the town. Discussion ensued as to the benefits which would be derived <br />from the establishment of & welcome center. The Board promised to take the matter <br />of apaoe allocation under advisement. <br />Vice Chairman Henry S. Walker recognized Don S. Matheson, Chairman of the <br />Confederate Memorial Library Board. Mr. Matheson introduced Lloyd Ostexman and <br />members of Harkin and Rice Architects of Raleigh. He stated that the State <br />Library Board was tremendously ~.mpresaed with the Burnside property. A <br />presentatien of the feasibility study, which had been requested by the Board, <br />was presented. The study revealed that the house was sturdy and it was strongly <br />recommended that the restoration of the property be mad®. Discussion ensued <br />concerning the report. <br />
