{ ~ .,~= 468 <br />The Board scheduled a public hearing on the question of altering the boundaries <br />of the Efland area and the other Orange Rural Fire Protection Diatriats for <br />Monday, July 2.1~., 1972, at 8 P. M. <br />The Tax Supervisor rsaommended that releases be authorized on the property <br />oP J. D. Share in Eno township Por a period from 1939 through 1971. The property <br />of 3. H. Burroughs in Eno township Prom the period of 1939 through 1971 and the <br />property of Don B. Latta in Hillsborough township from the period of 1962 <br />through 1971. Mr. Gattia stated that the tax department had been unable to <br />prove that these properties do exist. The Board authorized the Tax Supervisor <br />to release the property from the tax scrolls. <br />Chairman Bennett recognized Mr a. Ruth Cooper. Mra. Cooper stated that <br />some of the citizens living in the M111er Road community had developed a small <br />reareatioa area and that monies were needed to provide lights in the park. <br />Commissioner Tra A. Ward suggested that Mrs. Cooper contact the Joint Orange- <br />Chatham Community Action Agency as this agency did, at one time, have available <br />funds for recreational use. Chairman Gannett advised Mra. Cooper that there were <br />no county funds for recreational purposes. . <br />Mrs. Cooper stated that a petition had been filed for SR 1551.; requesting <br />that said road be paved. She inquired as to the status oP said road. Commissioner <br />Norman Walker suggested that the Clerk write the State Highway Commission about <br />the road and forward a copy oP the letter to Mr a. Cooper. He further suggested <br />that the letter oontain a request that if said road could not be paved then the <br />level of maintenance on said road be raised. <br />Commissioner Norman Walker stated that the Old Caldwell School building was <br />in a state oP total disrepair and that it was an eye sore to that community. Ha <br />stated that he felt the Board of Commissioners should request the Board of <br />Education to have the building demolished. <br />The following Resolution being Resolution No. was introduced in <br />written form by Commissioner William C. Rayraad after~ue '-scusaion, pursuant <br />to motion made by Commissioner William C. Ray and seconded by Commissioner Ira A. <br />Ward was adopted by the following vote: Coimniasioners Norman Walksr,..Henry S. <br />Walker and Harvey D. Norman Walker. <br />Present but not voting; None <br />Nay: None <br />"WHF.~tEAS, it is the determination of the Board of Commisaionera of <br />the County of Orange, North Carolina that the location of industry in the <br />County will bring immediate and long range advantage to the people of the <br />County oP Orange, North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, an experienced owner and operator oP manuPaaturing plants is <br />desirous of operating a manufacturing plant in the County oP Orange, North <br />Carolina (which manufacturing plant will be suitable Por production of <br />industrialized housing including without limitation modular houses, <br />components, wall panels, roof trusses and related produata and which <br />manufacturing plant of approximately 110,000 square Peat will employ <br />approximately lO0 persons); and <br />WHEREAS, soma interested citizens of the County oP Orange, North <br />Carolina, propose to organize a non-profit corporation, which it is <br />anticipated will be known as "The Industrial Development Corporation in <br />the County of Orange, North Carolina" (hereinafter called the "Corporation") <br />for the purpose of acquiring certain real estate and acquiring ar otherwise <br />constructir~, improving and maintaining thereon a manufacturing plant and <br />related Paailitiea (which manufacturing plant and related facilities together <br />with necessary appurtenances is hereinafter vaned the "Industrial Facility"); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, a copy of the Articles oP Incorporation of the Corporation <br />has been presented to the Board of Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners each oP the <br />members of the Board of Aireotors oP the Corporation ea presently constituted <br />is a sound minded indiviaval of good character and will constitute an asset <br />to the Corporation; and <br />
